During the early weeks of march 2011 the self proclaimed rebels of "free libya" started a offensive towards the western capital of Tripoli, to defeat long time leader Mohammar Gaddafi and end his dictatorship. What started out as a jolly enterprise conducted by every day citizens, who barely could hold an AK47, turned into a tragic and bloody struggle that hasn't ende till this day.
Following the naiv, euphoric but also brave young rebels this photo essay illustrates their earlier struggle that is about to lose its innocence.
